Sunday worship service - 11am
Methodist College, 1 Malone Road, Belfast, BT9 6BY
For 15 years, PVN Belfast has been working within the communities situated in and around Belfast City Centre. As well as our regular worship services, we have run and continue to run various projects and initiatives for the benefit of the community at large. We have had a dedicated team of of 45-50 volunteers over the years working to improve life opportunities for some of those most disengaged and marginalised in our society.
The perfect opportunity to get engaged beyond attending worship. It is: joining a team; meeting new friends; using your gifts and talents; serving others; making a difference.
"Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is [indeed] plentiful, but the workers are few."
We believe that water baptism is an outward sign of an inward work of salvation, by the Holy Spirit, and the first step of obedience toward becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with Christ’s death on the cross, His burial in the tomb and His resurrection.
Your old way of life is dead. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, behold he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Your old person is buried (symbolically as you go under the water). “Therefore we are buried with him through baptism in death...” Romans 6:4a
You are resurrected into a new life (symbolically) as you come up out of the water. “For when you were baptised, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were raised with Christ.” Colossians 2:12
You may be required to complete Life Class which takes you through what is means to be a new follower of Jesus and the significant meaning of baptism.
